The software is installed on a computer in the local practice network and is connected to the devices of Air Techniques in the practice.
If there is a message for a device in the practice, the software transfers the message to the cloud (visionmonitor.io). In addition, a message of the VS Monitor Notifier is shown in the taskbar.
The current status of the devices as well as messages and errors can be viewed using a browser.
All compatible devices from the manufacturer that are network-compatible can be connected to the software.
For the current overview of supported devices, see www.airtechniques.com/en/vision-monitor/.
Devices lacking a network connection can be connected using the Connect Box.

Just a browser is needed for the user interface of the cloud.
The network connection of the devices needs to be stable, e.g. via LAN or via a stable WLAN.
The server software is installed on a computer in the local network. This computer serves as the interface to the cloud and needs to have Internet access.
With regard to the server software, please note:Install the server software on a computer that is always running, e.g. on the server of the practice network
Run the server software exclusively on a computer within the network.
Vision Monitor is not compatible with NEO Pulse. Uninstall NEO Pulse.
Imaging software VisionX (from version 3.0.20) installed on the same computer as the server.
The first time VisionX is started, Vision Monitor is automatically downloaded and installed. If no Internet connection is available then the software can also be downloaded and installed later on.
Following the installation, the Notifier is visible in the taskbar as an icon.
Once there is a new message for a device, Vision Monitor sends the information to the cloud and the Notifier signals the message in the taskbar and as a Windows notification.
The display time of the messages can be extended to up to 5 min via the Windows settings.
Then, Vision Monitor is configured on the computer with the server installation.
Only sufficiently qualified staff should install and commission the software.
Computer in the local network with server installation of Vision Monitor
User account at visionmonitor.io (you may need to register again)
Practice:
Access to equipment in the practice as required for the use of VS Monitor.
Service partner:
Optional access to the practice for registered service partners
The first time a user logs on to the computer with the server installation of Vision Monitor, all devices that are on the network are automatically assigned to that user.
Then, the user can log in to the user interface from any terminal device to monitor their devices.
When licensing VisionX, a user account is automatically created and the email with activation link is sent.
The service partner must be registered with Air Techniques.
Each device is assigned to a location.
The main location is automatically created during installation.
We recommend using an appropriate and meaningful name for the main location, e.g. "Dr. Smith - Melville".
Additional locations can be created underneath this location, and they can again be subdivided into further locations.
Main location The location is automatically created during installation. It can be edited and renamed, but not deleted. | |
Region Location without address for grouping of locations | |
Location with address Provided the address is entered for at least one location, the locations are displayed in the Dashboard view. |
Notifications can be entered for every location.
Users can only be entered in the main location.
A location can only be deleted if no devices are assigned to it and if it has no dependent locations. All assigned devices and locations must be removed before deleting.
The higher-level main location cannot be deleted.
A user can be added to the main location.
There are different user roles with different access rights:
Role | Access rights |
---|---|
Users | Querying device information |
Administrator | Managing locations Managing users Managing devices Setting device parameters |
Service technician* | Setting device parameters (advanced) |
* for service partners only
When an important message (malfunction) appears on a device or maintenance is required, the software automatically notifies the contacts entered in Notifications.
Notifications can be entered on all levels of the organization. If a notification contact is shown in gray, the notification contact is entered in a higher-level location.
Every device is automatically added to the device list and is initially assigned to the main location. If additional locations have been created, the device can be assigned to a different location.
A service partner can be assigned to each device. This allows the service partner to access the device.
The VS Monitor Notifier runs in the background on the computer in the local network on which the software is installed.
The Notifier has two functions:Desktop notifications are displayed on the computer.
Establish the connection between the devices and the cloud
Closing the user interface in the browser does not close the software on the computer. The software remains active, the Notifier continues to display the status in the task bar.
To re-open the user interface, click on the icon in the task bar.
The program icon of the Notifier in the task bar shows the highest current message level of the devices.

Clicking on the program icon opens a new browser window with the user interface (cloud-based).
The context menu in the task bar (right mouse click on program icon)can be used to close the Notifier or disconnect the connection to the cloud:
Deactivate desktop notifications | The notifications on the desktop are getting deactivated. The connection between the devices and the cloud remains intact. Also refer to Notifier notifications. |
Disconnect the connection to the cloud | The connection to the cloud gets disconnected. No device information and messages are transferred to the cloud any longer. |
Open VS Monitor | The coud user interface opens in the browser. |
Start TeamViewer | TeamViewer Client is started up. A service technician can now connect to the computer. |
If the connection of the Notifier to the cloud is disconnected, no device information and messages are transferred to the cloud any longer.
There are two ways to open the user interface:
The cloud user interface consists of the navigation bar and the content area.
The content area varies depending on the view chosen in the navigation bar.
The views and rights vary depending on role (Administrator or User) and user (practice or service partner).
Different views can be selected in the navigation bar depending on the role of the logged-in user:
Dashboard | Start page, overview of status of the devices and locations The Maintenance area is displayed only if maintenance is due. | |
My devices | Information about all devices present in the local network. Messages that are currently pending in the categories "Fault" or "Notice" are displayed, along with the number of messages. see also My devices | |
Settings | Creating and editing locations, users and notifications |
All devices that are connected to the software are displayed in the My Devices view.
The status of the device is indicated by the icon in the device list:
Fault-free operation | |
Fault Operation of the unit interrupted | |
Notice Operation of the unit restricted | |
Device offline Connection to device is interrupted, no current information about the device status, e.g. device switched off or not connected to the network |
The device status, the product designation, the order number and the serial number are displayed in the Basic Information for the device, as well as the information when it was last online.
The following information can be queried using the Tabs:

Phosphor storage plate scanners transmit only the pure device data (e.g. messages, maintenance information) to VS Monitor. No image or patient data is transmitted.
The imaging software is required to use the phosphor storage plate scanner or to set imaging parameters.
The Dashboard tab provides an overview of the current status of the device
In addition, this shows basic information such as e.g. ordering number, serial number, firmware version, warranty.
The current device parameters and time to the next maintenance are indicated specific for each device.
The detailed view Messages shows messages that have occurred for the device. Messages are subdivided into the following categories:
Fault e.g. pressure sensor malfunction | |
Notice e.g. low pressure. Check system for leaks. | |
Note e.g. filter change required | |
Information e.g. device is idle |
If a message in the category Fault or Attention occurs on a device, the message appears under My devices in the cloud-based user interface. The icon in the device list changes.
The Notifier becomes active in the form of a balloon tip and the color of the message level (e.g. ) is shown along with the icon in the task bar. If several messages occur, the color of the highest message level is displayed.
You can query the set parameters for the device on the Parameters tab. Provided the user has the necessary rights, he/she can also make changes to the parameters for the device.
The change is sent to the device. Once the parameter has been changed on the device, a message appears in the software.
